Before building the Lab, Mr. Klaparda spent 17 years as Head of the Drum Department at SIR — Studio Instrument Rentals — across Hollywood and Las Vegas, working alongside countless drummers on countless records. That career lives in this room: in the instruments selected, the knowledge behind them, and the highest standard.
Alongside Joey is co-founder and partner Carlos Silva. A Las Vegas music veteran and Berklee College of Music Alumni who has performed on the Strip for decades. Having also been hired as a touring drummer and a performer with countless productions — including famed Blue Man Group — Carlos' master expertise brings a vital insight to the Drum Lab, both live and in the studio.

We are currently developing a 1,000 sq ft immersive historical drum room at the Electric Shop — a space designed with a warm, lived-in jazz club aesthetic that puts the history of the instrument on display alongside the instruments themselves.
